How to determine the width of a fabric?
To determine the width of a fabric, you can measure from selvage to selvage. The selvage refers to the tightly woven edge produced during the fabric manufacturing process to prevent unraveling. It runs parallel to the cut ends of the fabric, forming a boundary on either side.
To measure the width accurately, lay the fabric flat on a surface. Locate the selvage edges on both sides and measure the distance between them. This measurement will give you the width of the fabric.
